Water Stress and a Changing San Joaquin Valley
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The latest drought has put a spotlight on the challenges of managing water scarcity in the San Joaquin Valley. The PPIC Water Policy Center and the California Water Institute at Fresno State will hold a free, half-day public event featuring panels of local leaders and experts to discuss key water issues facing the region. We'll review the findings from a new PPIC report that highlights options for addressing challenges facing farms, communities, and ecosystems, while taking into account new opportunities for management under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
This research was supported with funding from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, the TomKat Foundation, and the
US Environmental Protection Agency.
Please register by February 28. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
